THOS. B. PROSSER.

After a protracted and painful illness Thomas B. Prosser died at his home, corner of Fourth and Sycamore streets, at 5:30 o’clock last evening. The deceased had been in broken health the past two years, and for several months had been confined to his home. Mr. Prosser was the youngest of a family of nine children, of whom only two survive, they being Mrs. Emma Dill and Mrs. Eliza Davis, both of Des Moines. Mr. Prosser was born in Prospect, Oneida county, N.Y., February 11, 1853. His parents Mr. William and Mrs. Mary Prosser, went to Boston in 1854, and remained there two years, when they removed to Muscatine. Mr. Prosser was educated our city and at an early age engagement in business. In 1878 he embarkment in the grocery business, in which I continued for twelve years, and of this union. He united with the Baptist church at the age of 14 and remained a member until his demise.

Mr. Prosser was an enterprising and successful business man, known for his probity of character and a devoted, Christian, being always foremost in furthering the cause of religion.

The funeral appointment has not yet been made.
