DEATH OF MRS. A. G. TOWNSLEY.

Word reached the city yesterday of the death of Mrs. A.G. Townsley, which occurred at 10 o’clock Monday night, and resulting from a complication of ailments. Her maiden name was Sarah Angeline Wright, and she attained the age of 73 years, 5 months and 5 days. She was born in South Carolina and when eleven years old removed with her parents to Ohio, in 1832.

She was married to A.G. Townsley June 23d, 1841, and remoed to Iowa in 1843, and settled in Cedar township, where they lived until 1849, when they removed to their present home in Seventy-six township. She united with the Reform Presbyterian (Convenanter) church at an early age. On coming to Iowa she joined the Presbyterian church at Letts under the pastoral care of Rev. James Wilson and remained a consistent member until her death. She participated in the log cabin days of the ‘40s. Her husband, three sons, and a daughter survive. The funeral appointment has not been announced.--- July 16, 1894 (hand written)
