DEATH OF MRS. W. MARSHALL. . Mrs. Thomas Barnard received a telegram yesterday afternoon conveying the sad news of the death of her mother, Mr. W.H. Marshall, at Linden, Iowa. The deceased had been a resident of Muscatine for over three decades and a year ago went to Linden to reside with her son, Charles. Mrs. Marshall was in her 80th year. She was a native of Canterville, Fairfax county, Virginia, being the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Perry. The family moved to Zanesville, O.; in 1828, where the daughter was married in 1835 to Mr. Marshall, and in 1852 they came to Muscatine. Mr. M. died several years ago. Seven children mourn the death of their venerable mother, they being Charles M., of Linden, Iowa; James, of Ft. Smith, Ark.; John, of Des Moines; Mrs. Jessie Barnard, Mrs. Isaiah Kerr; and Mrs. Thos. Barnard, of this city.
The remains are expected to arrive here this evening and the funeral announcement will appear later.
