DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT
Feb. 94 (hand written)

An old-time resident, LOUIS BREMMER, passed away Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock, after an illness of three weeks with pneumonia at the home of his grand niece, Mrs. August Fuller, on Main Street, near the junction of Lucas Street, at the advanced age of 77 years, 6 months and 8 days.

The deceased was a native of Germany and when twenty years of age emigrated to this country, locating at first in Jefferson, Mo., which place he left about forty years ago to come to Muscatine and here he had resided ever since, living a quiet, inoffensive and industrious life. He was upright and honest in all his dealings, a good neighbor and citizen.

Two brothers and a sister who came to this country with him have preceded him in death. Mr. Bremmer was never married and in late years resided with his grand niece, who bestowed on him affectionate care and attention. Two nieces, Mrs. Frank Behres and Mrs. Henry Seefeldt and two grand nieces, Mrs. Fuller and Mrs. P. Bos, all of this city, are the surviving relatives. The funeral is appointed to take place at 9 o’clock this morning from St. Mary’s church.
