DEATH OF MRS. J. M. MIKESELL

Mrs. Anna Mary Mikesell, for many years a resident of Muscatine, died at 1:10 o’clock this afternoon, from the infirmities of old age, at the home of her son-in-law, John W. Millar, on the Burlington road, three and one-half miles below the city. The deceased was 90 years of age on the 30th of January and had been quite feeble for several years. She was born in Pennsylvania, where she grew to womanhood, and was united in marriage with John Mikesell.

They came to Muscatine about fifty years ago, Mr. Mikesell dying here in 1852 and Mrs. Mikesell has since resided here. Three children survive their venerable mother – Martin L., and Miss C. A. Mikesell, of this city and one son, living in the south. The deceased had enjoyed the devoted care of her children for many years and fell peacefully asleep, free from any suffering.

The funeral services will be held at the home of John W. Millar, on the Burlington road.--- Feb 1894 (hand written)
