DIED

DICKINSON – At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hannah Letts, in Fairfield, Iowa, September 17, 1893, OCRAN DICKINSON, aged 80 years and 10 months.

Mr. Dickinson was a native of Hampshire county, Massachusetts and leaving home in 1835 came west to Michigan, where he worked at his trade as harness maker for a year. He then returned to Massachusetts, and September 20, 1836, was united in marriage with Miss Miranda Gale. They came to his home in Michigan, where they resided until 1846, when they came further west to Muscatine county and settled in Lake township. Mrs. Dickinson died about five years since which time, until last March, Mr. Dickinson boarded at the Scott House in this city. He went to Fairfield at that time and has since resided there with his daughter.

He is survived by seven children, two sons and five daughters, all married.

The body will be brought to Muscatine for interment. The funeral services will be held at the cemetery at 2 o’clock this afternoon. If the weather is inclement the services will be held at the Congregational church, of which denomination deceased was a member.
