DIED

At his home in West Liberty, Saturday, June 10, 1893, CHARLES BARNES, aged 62 years. Deceased was an old settler in this State, coming in 1839. He was born in Knox county, Ohio, and was married in 1852 to Miss Mary A. Hemperly, by whom he had four sons and three daughters – three sons and one daughter now living. He was diligent in business, so that it can be said that he ate not his bread in idleness, but by toil and frugality provided his family with a competency of this world’s good. He was an honored member of Mt. Calvary’s Lodge, No. 95, A. F. & A. M., and that Society had charge of the funeral services at the cemetery.

The funeral service was held at the Christian chapel on Monday, at 2 o’clock, and was very largely attended by friends and neighbors. A good man has gone, but his memory will be cherished, and his relatives feel their grief assuaged in part by the sincere sympathy that is tendered them on all sides in their bereavement. -- West Liberty Enterprise.
