DIED

Wednesday, March 1, 1893, at the family residence on Mulberry street, of consumption, MARGARET A. KNOTT, aged 63 years and 19 days.

The deceased was born in Lancaster county, Pa., and came west to Muscatine with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Clendenin, in 1842. She was united in marriage with Stephen Knott and six children were born to them, all of them surviving. They are: Hamilton Knott, of Stockton, Cal.; Mary J. Saxton, of Macksburg, Iowa; Charles A. Knott, of Independence, Oregon; Laura B. Berry, Ella H. Goodrich and John C. Knott, of Muscatine.

Mrs. Knott had been a long sufferer from rheumatism and bronchitis, culminating in consumption, which caused her death. She was a woman of mild and uncomplaining disposition, bearing with the fortitude of a Christian spirit the long years of intense suffering. She leaves a large circle of sincere friends to mourn her loss.

The funeral services will be held at the residence on Mulberry street, Friday, at 2 o’clock p. m., Rev. L. B. Hix officiating.
