DIED

Wednesday, January 25, 1893, at 1 o’clock p. m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Evans, in South Muscatine, of old age, Mrs. HANNAH RIGGS, widow of P. D. Riggs, aged 93.

The deccased was born in Ohio, where she grew to womanhood and was married, coming to IOWA with her family in 1853, since which time she had been a resident of Muscatine and vicinity. Her husband died in 1878. She was well beloved by all who knew her and in the many years of her residence in this vicinity her acquaintance was extended. She had reached a ripe old age and was ready to be gathered home for eternal rest. She had been a member of the Baptist church for many years.

Ten children were born to her, of whom two daughters survive, Mrs. J. E. Evans, of Muscatine, and Mrs. Amanda Edgington, of Edgington, Ill. The funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Evans, Friday morning. The interment will be made in the cemetery near Edgington, Ill.
