BECKER.-Monday January 30,1893, at 12:15 o’clock, at his home in Muscatine, MICHAEL BECKER, aged 78 years and 9 days.
The news of the dearth of this highly respected citizen will be a shock to his many friends who were unaware of his sickness. He was taken suddenly ill Sunday and during the night suffered a paralytic stroke, from which he never rallied passing peacefully away at the noon hour Monday.
The deceased was a native to Bavaria, and came to this country with his young wife fifty six years ago. In 1851 they came to Muscatine and have since made it their home. Mr. Becker was a good citizen and his death will be universally regretted. He is survived by his aged wife and eight children: Miss Henrietta Becker, August, Theodore, Henry, Albert and William.
Notice of funeral will be given hereafter.
