DIED

At the home of her brother, C.W. Mathias, at 10 o’clock p.m. Jan. 14, 1892, of la grippe and pneumonia, CORDELIA MATHIS, aged 42 years.

The deceased was taken ill only Saturday last with symptoms of la grippe, which rapidly developed into acute pneumonia, and despite skilled medical attendance and care, ful nursing she passed away last night. She was born in Muscatine and had passed her quiet life here, beloved by all who knew her. She was a consistent member of the First M.E. Church, in which she took a great interest.

Two brothers and one sister survive. They are: C.W. Mathis, of this city, George Mathis, of Kansas, and Amanda, of this city.

The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon from the residence of her brother, C.W. Mathis, No. 1217 East Front Street, conducted by Rev. J.F. Robertson.
