DIED

At his home in this city, at 8:30 o’clock a.m., January 15, 1892, of pneumonia, JOHN FISCHER, aged 64 years, 3 months and 27 days.

The deceased was born in Germany, where he grew to manhood, coming to the United States in 1854. In 1856 he came west and settled in Muscatine, where he had since resided, enjoying the respect and esteem of all who knew him. He was united in marriage soon after coming here with the faithful wife who mourns his loss. He was a consistent member of the German Baptist church. He had been in delicate health for the past fifteen years and his constitution was no fit foe for the insidious disease which attacked him. In his death the family lose an affectionate husband and father and his many acquaintances a valued friend.

Besides his wife, two sons, Henry, of Dubuque, and John, of Idaho, are left to mourn his loss. Henry arrived Wednesday to attend his bedside.

The time for the funeral has not been set, as they are waiting to hear from the second son John .
