Sudden Death of Michael Fahey while
Attending Mass at St. Mathias Church.

This morning Michael Fahey, residing on West Fourth street, was attending mass at St. Matthias church, and as he was in the act of leaving the place of worship, while in the entrance he fell prostrate to the floor. He was picked up by kind friends and carried to the home of the Sisters, where in a few moments he breathed his last, before a physician could be summoned to his side, and before his family could be called. He was in his usual health when he left home, and the shock falls most heavily upon the bereaved family. It is thought that heart trouble was the cause of the death. Mr. Fahey had been a resident of Muscatine for many years, and was known by all as an honest, industrious and faithful friend and neighbor. He was a native of Ireland and was about 70 years of age. He leaves two sons and two daughters to mourn his death.

The funeral is appointed for Saturday morning at nine o’clock from St. Matthias church.
