DIED.

PLATT.—At his residence on the Iowa City road, Monday, August 19th, 1889, at 5:05 p. m., of disease of the heart, THOMAS PLATT, aged 64 years, 6 months and 18 days.

Deceased was born in London, England. He came to Muscatine, Iowa, in 1850 and was united in marriage to Miss Maria Peck July 21st, 1853.

His wife and the following six children survive him: Frank, Claude, Addie, May, Thomas and William. The children are all residents of this city with the exception of Thomas who is a member of the U.S. regulars stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas.

The funeral is to take place from the family residence on the Iowa City road, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Revs. Wilson and Hix will conduct the funeral exercises.
