DIED,

HERSHEY. – At her home on east Fifth street Tuesday, May 14th, 1889, at 12:40 o’clock of paralysis, Mrs. JACOB HERSHEY, after an illness of one week.

Deceased was born July 6th, 1809 in Carlyle, Cumberland county, Penn. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Klepper. On August 3rd, 1826, she was united in marriage to Jacob Hershey who died four years ago. With her husband and family, deceased came to Iowa in 1850, locating in Muscatine where she has resided constantly ever since. Seven children survive: A. B., Mrs. Margaret Vance and Mrs. Dr. C. of this place, B. F. Trenton, Mo., and Mrs. Catharine Frantz of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and E. W. of Fair Play, Col.

The funeral took place from the residence at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
