WILLIAM SPRING

At the home of his son, Charles, 5 ˝ miles below Muscatine, on the Island, William Spring, of heart trouble, aged 73 years and 6 months.

The death summons came very suddenly. Mr. Spring was out in the garden yesterday morning at work. Being missed he was sought and found lying on the ground with the spirit already departed. He had been a resident of Muscatine since 1854, and been engaged in various occupations. He was an energetic, industrious man, nearly always hard at work though his means of support did not require it. He and his wife have been residing with their son for the past few months. His wife, son and a married daughter living at Fitchburg, Mass., survive him. His demise will be mourned greatly, not only by them but also by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. His native place was Grafton, Vermont.

The funeral has been appointed for Wednesday morning, at 10 o’clock, from the Island residence.
