Death of the Oldest Person in Muscatine County.

MRS. ELIZABETH SMITH, of Goshen township, died last Monday at the residence of her son William, in Wapsie township. She claimed to be 105 years of age but her children say she was about 98. Grandmother Smith and her husband were natives of Ireland and came to Goshen township when Iowa was a territory making their home on a farm where they both lived and raised a family of five boys and one girl. Mr. smith passed to the great beyond about 15 years ago and for many years Mrs. Smith lived alone but lately her old age and fraility made it necessary for her to make her home with her children. Yesterday her remains were laid beside those of her husband in the Timberlake cemetery.
