THOMAS L. ESTLE
Died,

At his home in Cedar township, Muscatine county, Ia, Thursday, Nov. 13, 1884, of broncho pneumonia, after an illness of one week, THOMAS L. ESTLE, in the seventy-first year of his age.

Mr. Estle was born in New Jersey in 1814 and removed with his parents to Ohio when two years age, where he lived until 1838, when he came to Iowa. He entered land in Muscatine county, where he has ever since made his home. In 1842 he was married to Susan Shellabarger, of Louisa county. Mr. Estle was well known by all the old settlers of the county and was esteemed by all who knew him as a man of sterling worth, integrity and honesty. His word was as good as his note or oath. His teaching was by example. Every act of his life was an example whose teaching was far grander then the most eloquent flow of words from less conscientious and upright in his daily life.

Financially he was successful, having acquired quite a large estate which he leaves unencumbered. He leaves a wife and eight children. The funeral took place on Saturday, the 15th, and was attended by a very large number of people, and noticeable among them were a great many of the old settlers of Muscatine and Louisa county. We can truly say, a good man has gone to his reward.
