DEATH OF SAMUEL M. HOUSER

Word is brought to us as we go to press by Capt. Baker that Samuel M. Houser was found lying dead in his dwelling late this afternoon. The Captain was enquiring for the Coroner, and the cause of this sudden demise is unknown. Mr. Houser was on the streets yesterday afternoon and appeared to be in his usual health. In his death there disappears from Muscatine on of the best known and most original characters belong to our city.

Deceased was born in Maryland in 1819, having celebrated his 63rd birthday on the 19th inst. He removed to Iowa in 1842, settling in Muscatine of which he has since been a continuous resident. His only known surviving relative is his brother, Mr. Mr. Christopher Houser, living beyond Butlerville.
