ORVAL AND WILMA WERNER
Nichols, Iowa Centennial Book 1884-1984, page 278
By Wilma Werner

We moved to our Nichols farm home from Winfield, Iowa. We purchased the farm from Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Chown.
Our family consists of three daughters, Margaret Marie Werner, Orvetta Sue Werner and Mary Beth Werner.
Margaret Marie Werner married Robert Gerke. They live in Issoquah, Washington, and have two sons, Chris Gerke and Greg Gerke.
Orvetta Sue Werner married Michael O’Leary. They live in Camanche, Iowa, and have a daughter, Dawn O’Leary, and a son, Mathew O’Leary.
Mary Beth Werner married Larry Fowler. They live in Muscatine and have one daughter, Maranda Fowler.
Orval has always farmed until his retirement. Wilma is a registered nurse. She was employed in the Henry County Memorial hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, while living in Winfield. Since moving to Nichols, she began working with the Nursing service of the Veterans Administration hospital in Iowa City. She became night nursing supervisor over this hospital and maintained this position until her retirement.
The Werners are members of Nichols United Methodist church. Several trips have been enjoyed by them – they are getting acquainted with our great United States.
