KENTON AND GARNET MILLS

         Garnet McConahay and Kenton Mills were married 26 May 1956.
         Garnet L. McConahay was a daughter of William H. McConahay and Opal A. Lavery McConahay. They lived in Columbus City, Iowa.
         Kenton L. Mills was a son of Frederick Mills and Odetta Arnold Mills.
         After their marriage, they rented a house on Short street, then owned by Clayton Coyner, and lived there for one year. During that time their first child, Sally Anne Mills, was born. They bought their present home on Highway 70 from Hubert Brugman and Lois Brugman. Lisa Mills, Kirk Alan Mills and Kim Lavern Mills joined the family over the next seven years. Mollie Bottomly and Mattie Hintz were often our baby-sitters.
         Lisa Lea Mills was born 9 April 1959 and died 13 December 1975 as the result of an automobile accident. She is buried in the Columbus City cemetery.
         Kent Mills went to work at Farmall. Then he served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953, after which he resumed working at Farmall. Later he was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission as a maintenance worker. Then he went to work at HON, Prime Mover Division, and he is still employed there [1984].
         Sally Anne Mills married Charles Hazen. Their daughter is Sara Lee Hazen.
