HOLDEMAN – PIKE FAMILY
Nichols, Iowa Centennial Book 1884-1984, page 260
By Margaret Holdeman Scoles

Mary Pike and Elmer Pike moved to Pike township from the tipton area before the turn of the century. They farmed north of Nichols and also east of town. Their three children were Harry Pike, Jessie Pike Krider and Golda Pike Holdeman. They are all gone with the exception of Golda Holdeman, who still lives on her farm near Letts, Iowa.
Golda Pike and Harley Holdeman were married 3 April 1912 and moved to Pike township in 1918. They farmed east of Nichols, just south of the Nichols cemetery, for 18 years before they moved to the Letts area. They had two children, Udell Holdeman and Margaret Holdeman.
Udell Holdeman was born at Lone Tree. He graduated from Nichols High school. He married Avis McMichael. They have four children: Gary Holdeman, Carolyn Holdeman Geertz, Mary Jo Holdeman Leighty and Penny Holdeman Gafeller. Avis is deceased and Udell is living at Springdale, Iowa [1984].
Margaret Holdeman was born in Nichols and graduated from Nichols High school. She married William Scoles (deceased) and lives on her farm at Letts, Iowa.
Harley Holdeman died in 1971, and Golda Pike Holdeman still lives on the family farm at Letts, Iowa.
