         Dennis Lee Hazen was nicknamed Denny because of an error in the birthday calendar. Denny went to grade school in Nichols and graduated from West Liberty High school. He was elected Governor of his senior class in school.
         Denny’s first job was delivering papers with his brother and mowing the Catholic cemetery. He has worked for Bonanza Buildings in West Liberty.
         Dennis married Jacquelyn Lee Jarvis of West Liberty. They were married in the home of Albert and Dort Hazen. Jacque was born to JoAnn Otto and Alvin Jarvis. After the death of JoAnn, Alvin married Cecelia “De De” Walters. Jacque has two brothers, Rod Jarvis and Russ Jarvis, and two sisters, Barb Jarvis and Sandy Jarvis.
         Denny and Jacque Hazen have two daughters: Jessica Lee Hazen and Kayla Lee Hazen. Denny, Jacque and both daughters all have the same middle name – Lee.
         Jacque and Denny were charter members of the Nichols Community club. Jacque also served as vice-president and president of the club.
         Denny and his family own the house at 207 Short street in Nichols. A few years ago a woman from Florida stopped at their house and told them she had been born in the house and her father had built it over a hundred years ago. She had been a Rummells girl.
         Denny enjoys listening to music, fishing, camping and snow skiing. Jacque enjoys camping, fishing, snow skiing, doll making and reading.
