Rudy Daedlow brought his family to Nichols when he was offered employment in the Nichols Savings bank.
Rudolph Daedlow was a son of William H. Daedlow and Amelia Paetz Daedlow, both natives of Germany. He was bornr 11 February 1894 in Muscatine. Hemarried Irma Lee on 19 May 1915 in Muscatine. They were parents of two sons, Aubrey Daedlow and Gordon Gaedlow. Rudy died in April 1973; Irma lives in Mediapolis, Iowa [1984].
Gordon Daedlow works at Caterpillar, and he lives with his family in Eldridge, Iowa. He and his wife have four children.
Aubrey attended the Nichols schools for most of his education. The family moved to Mediapolis, where he was married to Margaret “Peggy” Hutchcroft. They left Mediapolis in 1969 and went to Golden, Colorado, returning to Iowa in 1978. They now [1984] live near Mediapolis, Iowa. Aubrey is employed by the state as a bank examiner.
Aub and Peggy have three children: Dennis Daedlow, Diane Daedlow and Alan Daedlow. Dennis works in the trust department of the First National bank in Burlington, where Peggy also works. His first wife died in 1973. Their son, Darren was four years old at the time. Dennis remarried, and they now have a daughter.
Dianne Daedlow lives in Littleton, Colorado, and has two daughters. Her husband has his own business in Denver, Colorado. Dianne works for a company which inventories large business chains.
Alan Daedlow is a partner in a CPA firm in Tipton, Iowa. He has three children.
All of the Daedlow children graduated from The University of Iowa.
