         Charles Eugene Walker and Ione Bernice Juels met during high school and were married at the Nichols Christian church, where they are members.
         Eugene is the son of Chloe Walker and the late Charles Walker. The daughter of the late Ezra Walker and Sarah Walker, Chloe met and married Charles, a son of the late Sam Walker and Alice Walker at Toolesboro, Iowa. They moved to Nichols in 1940, where they bought a farm Chloe had lived on as a teenager. They had two children, Eugene Walker and his sister, Connie Sue Walker.
         Connie Sue Walker is married to Michael Ross of Muscatine, where they reside with their daughter, Angela Sue Ross. Both Eugene and Connie attended the Nichols Public schools, with Eugene graduating from Nichols High school and Connie from West Liberty High school.
         Ione is the daughter of Walter B. Juels and Ellen Cecelia Schnitker Juels. Walter and Cecelia were married in western Iowa and moved to Nichols after Walter was discharged from the Army. They are the parents of two other children, Walter J. Juels and Marlene Marie Juels.
         Walter J. Juels was killed in an automobile accident in November 1959. He was the father of one son, Timothy Walter Juels.
         Marlene Marie Juels is married to Larry Snyder. They live in Muscatine with their two sons, Larry Snyder and Mark Snyder.
         All three Juels children graduated from Nichols High school.
         Three children were born to Eugene and Ione Walker: Debra Kae Walker, Pamela Jo Walker, and Michael Eugene Walker.
         Debra Kae Walker is married to Frank Santana, and they reside in St. Charles, Illinois.
         Pamela Jo Walker is married to Dennis Osterhout, and they live in Huxley, Iowa. Their son is John Wayne Osterhout.
         Michael Eugene Walker lives in Nichols. All three of the Walker children attended Nichols grade school and graduated from West Liberty High school.
         Eugene and Ione Walker have been engaged in farming since their marriage.
