CLEM AND GERTRUDE CARROLL
Nichols, Iowa Centennial Book 1884-1984, pages 223
Clem Carroll and Gertrude Carroll moved to Nichols from Mediapolis, Iowa in 1947. They lived in the brick house east of town where Porters live [1984] and looked after Dora Nichols and the place there.
They were there six years until they bought the house where they live now. Mrs. Quinby ordered in her will that they were to have first chance to buy it.
Gertrude did book work and ran the office at Chown Appliance for eleven years, retiring in 180. Clem continues to sell McAllister Seeds and helps out in the office at Hester’s Grain and Fertilizer.
Clem and Gertrude both enjoy bingo and like to play a few times every week.
