ALBRECHT-CAMPBELL FAMILY
Nichols, Iowa Centennial Book 1884-1984, page 222
By Linda Campbell Albrecht

In December 1962, Donovan Campbell and Shirley Campbell moved to Nichols from West Liberty. They bought the brick house on Broadway street from Walter Morris. They are the parents of four daughters: Linda Campbell, Peggy Campbell, Twyla Campbell and Cindy Campbell. They lived in the Morris house until they bought the lots on the north end of Nichols and built a new home, which they moved into in September 1968. This is the story of the oldest of those four girls.
Linda Campbell was married to Dennis Albrecht at the Nichols United Methodist church by Rev. Russell Hart. In February of that year, Dennis was sent to Viet Nam. Linda lived with her folks for that year.
Dennis returned home in February 1970, and they farmed north of Nichols. The following year they bought the house at 401 Pleasant street, formerly owned by Ralph and Ula Han. Michelle Lynn Albrecht was born. Dennis was working at the John Deere store in Muscatine.
During the next five years they did a lot of remodeling to their home. Then Leslie Jodell “Jodi” Albrecht was born. Dennis was working at Bandag at that time.
They have been involved in many community activities. Linda is president of Apropos Junior Federated club [1984], of which she is also a charter member. Dennis is a volunteer fireman, a member of the Nichols City council and a member of the First Responders. They are both members of the Nichols United Methodist church.
Dennis is working for Terra Chemicals International in Muscatine. They continue to remodel their house and during the summer of 1983, they have built an addition on the west side.
