MRS CASSIE ZIMMERMAN

------------
Well Known Woman Succumbs in
South Muscatine Unexpectedly
While Resting Herself
------------
Sitting quietly on the front veranda of her son's residence, 911 Nebraska street, enjoying the cooling breezes of the night air about 10 o'clock on Saturday evening, Mrs. Cassie Zimmerman suddenly dropped from her chair to the floor and shortly afterwards expired. Death came as a shock to both relatives and friends, she not having been considered dangerously ill at any time recently. Although having complained somewhat of feeling unwell, her condition was not believed serious.
Death was a resultant of an attack of heart trouble with which she had been afflicted in a minor degree for some time. Following the evening meal she assisted in the general housework and appeared in excellent spirits. It is believed that after she retired for the night, she went outdoors to get some fresh air. She was discovered dead a short time after she had gone outside.
Mrs. Zimmerman, although having lived in this city since a child of but five years, being one of the early pioneers to settle in South Muscatine, had made her home for the past twenty-five years at Monte Vista, Col., Galconda, Ariz., and Moberly, Mo., visiting her children and relatives. She had been in this city on the last occasion little more than a month, having planned to visit her daughter in Moberly today.
Mrs. Zimmerman, nee Dietrick, was born in Phillipsburg. Pa., 61 years ago. In 1855 she came to this city, making her home with her parents at once on the property on which she died. She was married to John Rechenberger, a veteran of the Civil war, in 1867. He died five years later and after a lapse of three years the widow was married to Joseph Zimmerman.
To survive her she leaves a daughter and two sons--- Mrs. A. C. Scott, Moberly, Mo.; W. J. Rechenberger, of this city and Charles Rechenberger, of Arizona.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of Moberly Women's Relief Corps of which her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Scott, was president. Mrs. Scott is one of the most prominent club women in Moberly, a distinction which was shared by her mother.
The funeral will be held from the Musserville Methodist Episcopal church at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, the services to be conducted by Rev. H. W. Munster. Interment will be made at Greenwood cemetery. Mrs. Scott and husband arrived in the city last night to attend the obsequies.
