INQUEST HELD OVER TRUESDALE REMAINS ------------ APOPLEXY IS CAUSE ASSIGNED BY CORONER'S JURY ---------------- Pallie S. Truesdale of Fairport, Died Suddenly at His Home This Morning About 6 O'clock ---------------- The coroner's jury impanelled to investigate the death of Pallie S. Truesdale, which occurred in a rather strange manner at his home at Fairport this morning, returned a verdict in which apoplexy was assigned as the cause of his demise. Testimony introduced at the inquest which was held this morning by Coroner King, revealed the information that Truesdale, who was a section hand was apparently in normal health yesterday and until 5 o'clock last evening. About 5 o'clock he entered the depot to rest and talked for a moment with the agent V. P. Morris. When Mr. Morris started to leave the station about an hour later he discovered the helpless form of Truesdale on the floor of the waiting room. He helped the man home carrying him most of the way, and aided in putting him in bed. About 3 o'clock this morning his wife visited his bedside and he was apparently asleep and snoring. About 6 o'clock this morning his mother, Mrs. H. P. Frieler visited his bedside and found him dying. Dr. B. E. Eversmeyer and Coroner E. H. King were both summoned.------- Thought Him Intoxicated------ A physician was not called last evening because of the fact that Truesdale had been addicted to drink and his relatives thought him in a drunken stupor, even though no smell of liquor could be detected either on his clothing or breath. The rumor was also current in Fairport that the man had been poisoned. An investigation by Dr. Eversmeyer, however, silenced both of these rumors. The deceased was thirty-one years of age, and had been a resident of Fairport for the past ten years. He was a member of the Court of Honor lodge. He is survived by his wife, one small child and his mother, Mrs. H. P. Frieler. No funeral arrangements have been announced.------Additional information from submitter:------ Note from June Brewer Welsch: is believed that his name was Palestine and he shorten it to Pallie S.
