George Frenzel's Suicide.---The Wilton Advocate gives the following particulars of this sad affair: "A distressing suicide occurred at the home of Chris. Frenzel, near the camp ground, last Tuesday. His son, George, aged 21 years, had been afflicted with declining health for many months and finally he determined to put an end to his earthly ills. He made various attempts to procure death-dealing drugs in Wilton but having been foiled he went to Muscatine, last Monday, and brought a bottle containing sixty-five grains of morphine. After returning home late Monday night, he took the deadly narcotic. Early the next morning he was found sitting at the kitchen table, in a deathly stupor, and Dr. Cooling was called, but too late, as all efforts at resuscitation failed. He died on Thursday at three o'clock. He left a note stating he had taken the deadly drug with the intention of killing himself. Two years ago he was a rugged boy, and attended Wilton College, with the intention of eventually studying law, but his health began to fail, and bodily infirmities produced the disease that ended in his death. The funeral occurred on Thursday a.m. from the home of his parents."

OLGA FRIEDERICK----- BURNS FATAL TO OLGA FRIEDERICK ------------ DAUGHTER OF AUGUST FRIEDERICK DIES IN AMBULENCE ------------ Spirit Takes Flight From Badly Charred Body, Late Thursday Afternoon ------------ Olga Friederick, the 15-year-old daughter of August Friederick, who was burned when a large can of kerosene exploded as she was making a fire in a stove at the Theodore Gettert farm in Sweetland township yesterday, died shortly before 4 o'clock as she was being conveyed in an ambulence to this city. The death occurred when the vehicle was within a few hundred feet of the home of her brother-in-law, Frank Wentlandt, on Fulliam avenue, where the girl was being removed. The young woman's burns were such as to make her recovery impossible and Dr. J. L. Klein, the attending physician, feared that her demise would occur before the day was ended. The victim had resided in Muscatine less than a year, coming here from Germany eight months ago. Those who were acquainted with the girl liked her, however, as she was the possessor of a sunny disposition and was extremely thrifty. She was working at the Gettert farm attending to the housework, while her father assisted as a hired man on the place, and commenced work only this week. No Funeral arrangements have been made as yet.----- Witnessed Accident----- Miss Martha Loge the daughter of Ferdinand Loge, of 312 Gilbert street, accompanied Miss Friederick to the Gettert home on Tuesday evening and was an eye witness to the fatal accident. She states that as the girl was pouring the oil onto the smoldering fire, the explosion occurred, and in an instant her companion was wrapped in flames. " I was so frightened that I was momentarily paralyzed, but as soon as I recovered my presence of mind, I ran for a bucket of water. Olga ran into the yard and her clothing was badly burned when I reached her side, and as I threw the water upon her, her clothing fell from her body. Then the man came up and we removed her into the house and called for the doctor."

Wilton Man, 21, Is Found Dead in Hopper Car Here----- The body of De Wayne H. Fry, 21, route 1, Wilton, was discovered at the bottom of an unloaded hopper car at the Grain Processing corporation plant where he worked late Saturday night. His wife gave birth to their first girl today. Dr. V. W. Swayze, county medical examiner, said Fry apparently suffocated in the corn that had been run out through the bottom of the railway car into a conveyor, but that death could have been caused by a fall into the car. Lloyd Staab, plant safety director, said Fry and a co-worker were assigned to unloading the grain. The other worker went to another part of the building and when he returned Fry was not seen. Returning later to see if the hopper had emptied of grain, he saw Fry's hand near the bottom of the car. He looked inside and saw Fry face down in the hopper. Dr. Swayze ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. If Fry had fallen into the hopper when it was nearly emptied he could have been fatally injured, it was pointed out. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the George M. Wittich funeral home. The Rev. Emmett Barnes will officiate. Burial was in Letts. Mr. Fry was born here in January, 1945. He was the son of Roy and Dorothy Stanbro Fry. He was married in Muscatine to Donna Hart on June 12, 1964. He attended Lincoln Boulevard Baptist church. Obituary----- Henry Fry was born Jan. 5, 1814 in Somerset county, Penn., and died April 30, 1897, aged 83 years 3 months and 2 days. On the 20th day of September, 1838, he was united in marriage with Mary Fitzgerald, who survives him. Their early life was one of hardship and toil, beginning as they did without any of this world's goods. Fourteen children were born to Brother and Sister Fry, three sons and one daughter having preceded their father to the spirit world, The ones who are living are; Josiah, Cyrus, Frank and John Fry, Mrs, John Coder, Mrs. Jos. Morrison, Mrs. Peter Brookhart and Mrs. C. Herrick of Muscatine county, Iowa; Mrs. L. M. Epperly of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. W. C. Harvey of Marne, Cass county, Iowa. They had fifty two grandchildren, of whom forty-three are living, and twelve great-grandchildren, who are all living. Brother Fry was converted and united with the M. E. church in the year 1854. He often spoke of the religious instruction he had when young and how Jesus was with him in camp-meetings and revivals. He, with his family, moved to Iowa in May, 1856, and had resided in Muscatine county ever since. Brother Fry was one of the industrious and staunch citizens of this community. He came here when the country was new and by industry, economy and good management he made his way up. First he bought an eighty and kept adding to and improving till he owned one of Iowa's magnificent farms. As a neighbor he was accommodating and peaceable; he was a model husband, affectionate, gentle, forbearing, and a great lover of home. As a father he had so impressed himself upon his children that they rise up and call him blessed. While Bro. Fry was not a sectarian he was a loyal Methodist, loving above all others the church of his choice, and was an exemplary profession and a happy, steadfast Christian. His honorable life and Christian example had been a constant benediction to this community. While his lips are closed in death and we shall not hear his familiar voice again, he continues to speak to us in unmistakable tones, "follow me as I have followed Christ." The funeral services were held at the M. E. church, May 2nd at 11 a.m. A very large concourse of people assembled to look for the last time upon the face of their friend and brother. Services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. D. C. Bevan. His text was Philippians 1:21 "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." The remains were laid to rest in the Letts cemetery.----- Note from June Brewer Welsch: Henry Fry is my husbands great great grandfather.
