KATHERINE SCHUBICK attended Old Garfield from 1942 thru 1949. She married Gary Ackerson in 1955 and have the following children: Vicki Corcoran (41) who by the way played gold with Tiger Woods last summer in St Charles, Il; Vinne Ackerson (40) a banker in Dallas, Tx; Valerie Cavanaugh (38) a Dentist in Denver, Co. and Annette Waldorf (36) a computer analyst for Pioneer in Des Moines, Ia. Kay & Gary have 2 grandchildren in Dallas and St. Charles, Il.
She recalls watching Ms Othmer's bird slides in the basement of Old Garfield and she loved the occasions when they could push the desks back against the wall to play games in Ms Northey's 1st grade class and in Mrs. Wellons 2nd grade class when they made Chinese courtyard bulletin boards.
Kay is a Registered Nurse and School Secretary while her husband Gary is a School Administrator and Athletic Director in Rock Island, Il. They are both looking forward to this years reunion.
