MARILYN DOEFER MORRIS Marilyn taught at both the Old and new Garfield Schools from 1953 thru 1958. She then continued teaching in the area until her family moved to McLeansboro, Ill. She continued teaching for the next 20 years retiring in 1994. She still teaches gifted children, grades K thru 6th. She was one of 25 teachers who excelled in the state of Illinois in 1993. He husband is a Federal Grain Inspector. They have 4 children. Ellen is a retina eye specialist, Mark is a doctor in the St. Louis area, Jay is a furrier, and Beth is a day car teacher. Many great memories of former students, teachers and events of Old Garfield will always be treasured.
