ELLEN MARIE NICKOLS FIGGINS Ellen attended old Garfield for her 1st & 2nd grades at age 6 and 7. She is now 69 years old and has 3 children & 5 step children. Her first husband was 59 years old when he died of a heart attack. She then married George Figgins and they have been together since 1986. They were old friends.
She was the owner/operator of Ellen's Ceramics on Mulberry and Hershey streets from 1972 till 1990 when she retired and sold the business. One of her sons has worked for Hon Co since 1983; a daughter and her husband run Tony's Tropicals located on Park Ave in Muscatine. Her oldest daughter works at Liticias. Ellen has 6 grandchildren, 3 boys and 3 girls the oldest is 26 and the youngest is 7. One great grandson 6 years old. Her step-children live in Colorado Springs, Co; Court deLeu, Idaho and Billings and Laurell, Montana. She tells us that other than 10 step-grandchildren and 3 great step grandchildren she still has her health and still works everyday at the Pet Store.
