JESSE & HELEN BLAKE

    Occasionally Jesse and Helen Blake spend some time in Texas, but still like Muscatine, Ia. Jesse attended Garfield during the years of 1932-1934. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from GPC in 1988 after 37 years of faithful work.

    Helen Baars married Jesse Blake in 1942 and they had 2 sons, Jack and Tom. These 2 boys gave them 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and another one on the way. Helen Baars Blake also attended Garfield School from 1929-1936. She then attended Franklin Grade School. She attended MHS when it was on Iowa Ave for 1 year before going to the new MHS on Cedar St. Helen's brothers and sisters who attended Garfield: Delbert (Deb) Baars; Lucille (Adams) Baars; June (Tietji) Baars; and Robert (Bob) Baars. Her brother Jim went to Garfield, and still lives in Muscatine.
