ST. MATTHIAS CATHOLIC CHURCH
MUSCATINE, IOWA

Funeral Record for the
Catholic Congregations of Muscatine
1853-1863

Submitted by Eleanor (Lynn) McCleary on August 10, 2007. This information was transcribed from photocopied, handwritten, pages from St. Matthias Church records on file at Musser Public Library, 304 Iowa Ave., Muscatine, IA.

Some of these people may have been buried in the Old St. Mary's Cemetery in Muscatine. Being there are no burial records or grave markers that remain there today, makes it tough. The best we can do is to see if their place of burial is noted in an obituary or if they are found interred in another cemetery. We checked Greenwood Cemetery records and found only one from this listing who was buried there. It was of John Shwab/Schwab who died in 1862.
