J. G. SCRIBNER, far., Sec. 33; P. O. Sweetland Center; was born in Carroll, N. H., June 12, 1810; removed to Muscatine Co. in 1854. He married Miss Eliza Plumer Sept. 22, 1831, born in Carroll Co., N. H. in 1809; she died in 1855; he married again Miss Mary Underwood Aug 12, 1858; born in Merrimack Co., N. H., Nov. 5, 1816; Mr. S. had three children by his former wife--Samuel S., Abby M. and Mary A., all deceased. Mr. and Mrs. S. are members of the Friends' Church; Mr. S. is a Republican.
