HENRY MARTIN, cooper, East Ninth st.; was born in Hanover, Germany, May 21, 1832; he was brought up there, and learned the cooper's trade; he emigrated to America in 1854; he came to Iowa and settled in Muscatine in September, 1855; he commenced working at his trade, and has continued every since for twenty-four years, and longer than any cooper here. He married Miss Amelia Hillis, from Hanover, Germany, Sept. 6, 1859; they have seven children--Charlotte, Fred, Henry, Caroline, John, Theodore and William.
