JOHN DAIBER, boot and shoe manufacturer, Second street, Muscatine; was born in the Kingdom of Wurtemburg, in 1835; emigrated to St. Louis in 1853; came to Muscatine in 1854; served in Co. C, 14th I. V. I.; was honorably discharged at the close of the war. He married Miss B. Fitzgerald; they have six children--John, James, Julia, Mary, Nora and Bridget. Mr. Daiber is a member of the Masonic fraternity; is a Democrat; was Alderman of the Second Ward from 1872 until 1874.
