GRUNDER FAMILY RE-UNION The fourth annual reunion of the John and Peter Grunder descendants was held at the Louis Grunder grove northwest of Wilton Sunday, Aug. 31.
A picnic dinner was served at noon after which a business meeting was held and contests and a ball game were enjoyed. At the business meeting the old officers held over for the coming year and the following were appointed for the entertainment committee: Leo Grunder, George McCoy, Emily Wacker, Waldo Marolf of Davenport, and Betty Marolf of Tipton.
A ball game between the married and single men was played, the single men winning.
Present were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Marolf and family of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Julius DeFauw and family Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rottman and family of Rock Island; Mrs. Anna Rottman, Frank Rottman, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schneckloth and family, all of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marolf and family and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wood of Tipton; Mr. and Mrs. George Marolf, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marolf and Ronald, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McCoy, George McCoy, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wacker and family; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grunder and family; Louis Grunder and Althea; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Grunder; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Grunder and family; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grunder and Gertrude; Miss Louise Bolly; Mrs. Art Laschansky; and Wilbur Stewart, all of Wilton.
Plans were made to have the reunion next year at Rochester Park.
