Twenty-nine seniors of the class of 1937 of Wilton High School received their diplomas at the 58th annual high school commencement exercises held in the school auditorium last Thursday evening.
Stressing the value of education in fitting one's self to better meet the challenge of present day conditions, Rev. Vance Webster, pastor of the First Baptist church of Muscatine, told the graduates that "The life that counts is the prepared life of those willing to pay the price of preparedness."
Rev. Webster's address was the feature of the evening's program which also included the presentation of awards and honors to various members of the class who earned distinction during their high school careers.

The honor roll of eight Wilton high school seniors with an average of 90 per cent or better for their four year course was announced at the Commencement exercises Thursday night: They were as follows: Kennet Atkinson, Bernard Duffe, Harry Luethye, June Collier, Florence Norton, Vera Soukup, Otilda Erickson, Bernice Hanson.
Students acquiring recognition in declamatory work were: Florence Norton, Hilbert Marolf, James Valet, Eloise Martin, Mildred Johnson, Vera Soukup.
Typing awards for 45 or more words per minute went to June Collier, Paul Hain, Bernard Duffe, Katherine Maher, Florence Norton, Eloise Martin, Bernice Hanson, Otilda Erickson, Mildred Johnson, Helen Woodhouse.
Typing roll of honor for 50 words or more in a 15 minute speed test: Florence Norton, June Collier, Eloise Martin, Mildred Johnson, Bernard Duffe.
