TURNER

     Cyrus Filmore Turner was born Feb. 5, 1856 in Butler County, Kentucky. He come to Iowa in 1875, and located near Henderson. He married Sarah Belle Ewing in Sept. 1877,  They were the parents of six children: J. Hamilton, Harry B., Etta -- died at the age of six in 1888, Grace, Ada and Mabel. They lived near Henderson until March, 1894, when they moved to the farm in Montgomery County, Sherman Township.  In 1913 Hamilton married Elizabeth Woods Sattro, and they continued to live on the home place until 1943. They purchased the farm just east of the home place where their son, Philip C. Turner now lives and has lived for over 40 years. Phillip married Viola Boan, August 1936, they have five children: P. Larry, Diane McCunn, Douglas L., Todd A., Tracy B.

    Cyrus died in 1938 and Belle in 1949. They are buried in the family plot in Henderson. Hamilton died in 1956, and Elizabeth in 1968. They are buried in Elliott Hillside Cemetery.
