ALONZO SMITH

     Alonzo and Carrie Smith moved to the Elliott area somewhere around the year 1879. They took up residence where Howard and Betty Lantz now live. They moved south of Elliott in 1900, to the farm now owned by Jessie Smith. Alonzo was born Oct. 10, 1856 and died Dec. 5, 1924. Buried at Elliott Cemetery. They had four children: Ray, Loyd, Fannie and Vesta.

RAY CAROL SMITH AND JESSIE ELIZABETH SMITH.

     Ray Smith was born Dec. 2, 1888 to Alonzo and Carrie Smith at Elliott, Iowa. He married Jessie Mercer on Feb. 4, 1914. She is the daughter of Leroy and Sarah DeWitt Mercer, born on Sept. 14, 1891. At the time of their marriage Jessie was a school teacher at the DeWitt school. Ray lived his entire life at Elliott and farmed and ran a shelling machine. He also played baseball and managed the Elliott Blue Sox baseball team. Ray died May 11, 1957. Buried at Elliott Cemetery. Ray and Jessie had two sons, Harold Biffie and Buddy Worth.

HAROLD BIFFIE AND LUCILLE SMITH

     Harold Smith was born April 28, 1916 at Elliott, Iowa. He is the son of Ray and Jessie Smith. He married Lucille Lewis of Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 28, 1938. At the time of their marriage Lucille was an elevator operator and Harold was working in the copper mines at Provo, Utah and playing semi-pro baseball. They moved back to Elliott in 1938 and have farmed in the Elliott and Griswold area ever since. They have two sons, Jimmie Lynn and Michael Ray.

JIMMIE LYNN AND MARY JOYCE SMITH

    Jim was born June 26, 1939 at Elliott. He is the son of Harold and Lucille Smith. He married Mary Joyce Hallett on Sept. 9, 1961 at Council Bluffs, Ia. At the time of their marriage they were both employed at Western Electric Company, Omaha, Nebr. They moved back to Elliott in 1968 and have farmed in the Elliott area since then. They have three children: Brian Ray born Aug. 11, 1966, Diane Marie born March 26, 1968, and Carol Elizabeth born Jan. 15, 1971.

MICHAEL RAY AND PAM SMITH

    Mike Smith was born Feb. 17, 1945. He is the son of Harold and Lucille Smith. He married Pamela McElligott at Midland, Texas. At the time of their marriage Mike was in the Air Force and Pam was employed at a bank. Pam has one son, Kim. They are now living in Houston, Texas.

BUDDY WORTH AND ANNA MAE SMITH

    Buddy Smith was born April 2, 1922 at Elliott, Iowa. He is the son of Ray and Jessie Smith. He married Marjorie Zimmerman, the daughter of Ralph and Minnie Zimmerman of Lewis, 1946. They had two sons, Richard born July 13, 1954, and Dennis born Aug. 5, 1959. Marjorie died July 1971 and is buried at Elliott. Bud remarried to Anna Mae Peck, 1975. They have both lived and farmed in the Elliott area all their lives. Bud played baseball for the Elliott Blue Sox.
