ROBERT HAMILTON REED

    Robert Hamilton Reed born Dec 8, 1855, in Jackson County, Iowa married Clara Todd Jan. 20, 1881. She passed away July 16, 1881. She is buried at Lowman Cemetery near Elliott, Iowa. He then married Belle Hughes on Dec. 31, 1882. She was born March 26, 1861. They farmed north-east of Elliott. They moved to Red Oak, Iowa in 1913. he passed away on April 28, 1923 and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak. Belle died Nov. 23, 1944 and is also buried at Evergreen Cemetery. She was a resident of Elliott, Iowa at the time of her death.  To this union three children were born:

      Charles Henry Reed born Nov. 18, 1883.

      Ella Catharine Reed born Aug. 9, 1886 (see Reed-Kennedy)

      Robert Hamilton Reed, Jr. born Jan. 12, 1898. He died July 15, 1918 while a soldier in France during World War I.  He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery also. He was not married,
