MURPHY

  Frank Hiriam Murphy was born Dec. 18, 1890 at Walnut, Iowa; the son of Thomas Grant Murphy and Jennie Elizabeth Campbell. He graduated from Harlan High School in 1910, and the University of Iowa in 1914. He married Alma Maude Barratt, June 24, 1914 at Harlan. Their children were: Russell Thomas (deceased 1918), Leota Mae, Betty Jane, and Doris Alta. In 1911-1912 he worked for Jack Theobald in Iowa City, 1912-1914 yard man for Green Bay Lumber Co., Irwin. From 1914-1943 he was manager for Green Bay at Gray and from 1943- 1955 he managed the Green Bay Lumber Co. at Elliott. He died Oct. 25, 1965.
