I've "rescued" an old photograph of Fred HALL which was taken at the
McMillen Studio in Red Oak, Iowa. The photograph appears to have been taken
in the 1870's or 1880's with Fred likely about 1-2 years old at the time it
was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following
census information:
1880 census of Red Oak, IA:
Cyrus HALL, age 49, born NY, a Farmer, parents born MA/NY
Lucina HALL, wife, age 42, born NH, Keeping House, parents born MA
Adna HALL, son, age 19, born IA, Farm Worker
Mary HALL, dau, age 18, born IA, at Home
Marion HALL, son, age 15, born IA, Farm Worker
Minnie HALL, dau, age 14, born IA, at Home
Mattie HALL, dau, age 11, born IA, at Home
Freddy HALL, son, age 1, born IA
Jess MCCRACKEN, other, age 25, born PA, Farm Worker, parents born PA
I am hoping to locate someone from Fred's family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member
of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
