O. L. Olson, 81, Died Here Tuesday

He Conducted a Bakery in Red Oak for
44 Years Before Retirement in 1920.

FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON
O. L. Olson, 81, for 56 years a resident of Red
Oak, during 44 years of which he conducted a bakery here until his
retirement in 1920, died at his home, 701 Washington-ave. at 6:30
Tuesday afternoon, July 12, 1932, from infirmities due to his
advanced age. He had been sick for three weeks.
Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2:30
o’clock at the Swedish Lutheran church, of which he was for many
years a faithful member. Rev. R. W. Peterson, his pastor, will
conduct the services. Pallbearers will be John Peterson, Marcus
Eckhoff, Joe Peters, Chas. Peterson, Claus Liljedahl and Lyle
McCormick. Burial will be in Red Oak cemetery.
Olof
L. Olson was born in Sweden Sept. 15, 1851, and came to America in
1873, moving to Red Oak in 1876. On July 11, 1888, he was married in
Red Oak to Ida Christine Carlson, who survives. He leaves four
children, as follows: Carl C. Olson, Montezuma; Paul R. Olson, Iowa
City; Merrill A. and Mary Olson, of Red Oak. He also has a half
brother, Nels Nelson, of Wakefield, Neb.
