DEATH OF MRS. G. C. KING

After illness of a Week She Died
in Red Oak Monday
Morning—Funeral at M. E Church
Tuesday Morning.

Mrs. Lillie Bell King, wife of Geo. C. King, died
at the home of Mr. King’s father, C. C. King, on South West First-st.,
about 5:30 o’clock Monday morning, August 26, from rheumatism
following illness of about a week.
Funeral services by Rev. F. N. Willis, D. D., of
the M. E. church, were held in that church at 10:30 o’clock, Tuesday
morning, Aug. 27. The singing was by Misses Carol Willis and Celia
Thomas and Will Maloney and C. N. Heath. The pallbearers were J. E.
Marsh, T. C. Harp, J. R. Watson, Geo McCleary, Herbert Cramer and
Everett Davis. Interment was in Red Oak Evergreen cemetery.
Those who came from a distance to attend the
funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ireland, Mrs. Elizabeth
Pierson and Mrs. Dollie DeWitt, from Griswold; James W. Pierson,
from Falls City, Neb.
Mrs. King’s maiden name was Miss Lillie B.
Pierson. She was born near Griswold, Iowa, Aug. 4, 1893, and was
married Oct. 17, 1910, at Mason City to Mr. King. She had lived here
since Dec. 25, 1910. The surviving relatives are her husband, Geo.
C. King, of Red Oak; her father, James W. Pierson, of Falls City,
Neb.; her mother, Mrs. Wilbur West, of Belding, Mich.; two sisters,
Mrs. Dollie DeWitt, of Griswold, and Miss Maude Pierson, of Belding,
Mich.; one brother, Floyd Pierson, of Belding, Mich.
Mrs. King was a member of the M.
E. church and was a young woman who had many friends. Sincere
sympathy of these friends is extended to the sorrowing relatives.
