George Ferguson
Died, at Red Oak, August 1, George
Ferguson, aged 46 years. The deceased was a
brother of Mrs. Long. He has been a great sufferer
from spinal disease for the past two years, and had
tried every thing that medical skill could suggest. His
trial was born with Christian fortitude. In his loss the
family have the sincere sympathies of all.
The funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 A. M. at
the family residence, Rev. Austin officiating. The
remains were interred in the Sciola Cemetery.

Bro. Robert
Sadler
Sadler. Bro. Robert
Sadler fell asleep in Jesus March 9th, 1888, of brain
fever, after an illness of twenty-four hours.
Bro. S. was born in Summit
Co., Ohio, Aug. 5th 1829. He was married to Miss
Charlotte Steward, Sept. 2nd, 1852. From Ohio he came to
Jackson Co., Iowa, and lived there five years.
Then he came to Clinton Co. In 1880 he moved to
Montgomery Co., Ia. He with his wife belonged to the
Christian church. He was an able worker. After coming
here and hearing Elder B. Forester, he became interested
in the near coming of Christ, embraced the truth at
once, and joined the Advent church has at Hazel Grove.
In his death the church has lost an elder and a faithful
brother. He leaves a loving wife, seven sons and six
daughters to mourn his death, but they sorrow not
without hope. As Elder Forester was absent, the funeral
services were conducted by Bro. F. C. Watkins, who spoke
cheering words from 1 Thess. 4:14,15. Then with sad
hearts we laid him away to rest. We shall meet him
in the morning.

Mrs.
Dorothy (O'Brien) Sadler
Mother of Robert and John M. Sadler
Died 11 Nov 1887
Notice has
just been received of the death of Mrs. Sadler, which occurred at the home
of her son Robert Sadler, in Montgomery county, Iowa, in the 79th year of
her age. Deceased was born in Summit county, Ohio, Jan. 2, 1809; was
married 1831 to John Sadler, who died Sept. 20, 1849, after which she
moved with her children to Jackson county, Iowa, where she resided until a
few years since, when she removed with her son to Montgomery county. She
leaves a large circle of friends in Jackson and Clinton counties who will
regret to learn of her death. She was a kind, loving mother, an
exemplary Christian, and leaves one brother and six children to mourn her
loss. Deceased was the mother of Mrs. Samuel Roush of this place.

Milford: Mrs. Dora Sadler died at the residence of her son,
Robert, two miles east of Milford, Nov. 11, in the 78th year of her age.
Interment was made in the
Milford (Grant) Cemetery on Sunday.

Mrs. Dora Sadler died last Friday,
and was buried Saturday, the funeral being held at the church. The
deceased was over 78 years old.

Charlotte (Steward) Sadler
Sadler. -- The many friends of Charlotte Sadler
will regret to learn of her death which occurred at her home in Nebraska,
Dec. 9th 1912, aged 76 years. Charlotte Steward was married to Robert
Sadler, September, 1852. They came to Iowa soon after, settled close to
Iron Hill but soon tired of timber life and bought a large farm close to
Delmar where they lived for many years; then sold their farm and moved to
Grant, Iowa, where Mr. Sadler died. Mrs. Sadler then went with her
children to Nebraska. She was a loving wife and mother, and for many years
a true member of the Christian church. She leaves to mourn, six sons and
four daughters, besides many relatives and friends. Her children had
the body taken back to Grant, Iowa, and laid to rest in the family lot by
side of her husband and several children buried there.

Robert
Sadler
Died.
Sadler. --
At his home in Montgomery county, Iowa, March 9, Robert Sadler, in the
fifty-ninth year of his age.
Deceased was
born in Summit county, Ohio, August 5, 1829; was married September 2,
1852, to Miss Charlotte Steward, of Hudson, Ohio, at which time he removed
to Iowa and settled near Iron Hill, where he worked at his trade for a few
years, but tiring of this he purchased a farm near Delmar, Clinton county
where he lived for more than twenty years when he removed with his family
to Montgomery county, where he has since lived. Deceased had suffered with
dyspepsia for several years, but was taken suddenly ill on Thursday night
at seven o'clock and everything was done that human aid could do, but he
never spoke or knew one of his family and the next night he died. He was a
kind and loving husband and father and a devoted Christian. He leaves a
wife and thirteen children and a large circle of friends to mourn his
loss.

Wm. Carter O'Brien
Wm. Carter
O'Brien was born at Hudson, Summit Co., Ohio, April 7th, 1829, died April
5th, 1891. Deceased came to Iowa in the spring of 53 and settled on the
farm where he has since resided. In the spring of '54 he was married to
Miss Mary Larkins, of Stockton, Chautauqua Xo., N.Y. She died February,
1880, leaving one daughter, Laura, now Mrs. T. E. Jackson. February 15th
Mr. O'Brien was stricken with paralysis, from which he never recovered.
His daughter and her husband were his constant attendants during his
sickness and in his death sustain a great loss. He was a kind neighbor, a
loving father, and crowning all other virtues was his Christian character.
The God whom he served and trusted was his comforter in sickness and his
support in death. Among the last words he said were these: "I am trusting
in Jesus." Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 8th, by Rev.
Newville, and he was followed to his last resting place by a large
concourse of friends and relatives.
"After
life's fitful fever he sleeps well."
