Amos Anderson Dead Villisca, Jan 24. -- Amos Anderson, since 1874 a resident of this locality, died at his home here Sunday, Jan 21, after illness of five weeks. The funeral, in charge of Rev. J. W. Taylor and Rev. W. J. Watson, and the local I. O. O. F and M. W. A. orders, was held at the M. E. church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock and interment was in Villisca cemetery. Mr. Anderson was a native of La Grange county, Ill., being born May 30, 1847. He was married to Miss Philena C. Miller at Ontaria, Ind., June 12, 1870, and in 1874 located on a farm north of town. He came to Villisca to live a few years later. He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Orra Bryson of Villisca, Mrs. Myrta Holland of Addy, Wash., William A. and Frank Anderson of Spokane, Wash. Mr. Anderson had served on the city council here many times and was a prominent citizen. |
