Rites Saturday For Mrs. Cliff Ackles

Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 28, at 2 p. m. at the
Perryman chapel for Mrs. Clifton Ackles, 72, who died November 25, at
the University hospital, Iowa City. She had been ill ten months.
Rev. Carl B. Robinson of the First Christian church was the officiating
minister. Music was by Mrs. Ray Cozad, organist, and Stephen Fifield,
soloist. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Mary Kirby, Mrs. Josephine
Bellis, Mrs. Carl Weilman and Mrs. Nell Beeson.
Bearers were Ben Dukeshire, Veimer Johnson, Martin Johnson, Frank
Gilmore, Thomas Beeson, and Thomas Kirby. Burial was in
Evergreen cemetery,
Red Oak.
Nellie A., daughter of Freeman and Mary Evans, was born Dec. 9, 1880, in
Pottawattamie county. She was married February 7, 1906, at Stennett to
Clifton Ackles, who died in 1948. She had lived in Montgomery County for
32 years before going to the Berry Nursing Home in Atlantic where she
had lived for the past three years. She was a member of the Christian
church of Elliott.
Survivors include two sons,
Gaylord Ackles of Allerton, and Gernard. There are three grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister survive also. They are: Curtis of Greeley,
Colorado; Claude Evans of Red Oak; Harold Evans of Chicago and Mrs. Lela
Dean of Griswold.
